The Youngs- Back to Daycare and a Double Birthday

Penelope Young holds her daughter Piper and worries about her upcoming day.  Today will be her first day resuming her home daycare since Piper has been born, and she can't help feeling a little nervous. Her and James also have a double birthday party planned that night for both of their daughters.

Her and James have redecorated the daycare room.

James leaves for work, and Penny's new little friends arrive! While Piper sleeps, she feeds breakfast to her own toddler daughter Avery, and also new friends Addison Macintyre and Sandi French!

"I've forgotten how much I've missed this!" Penelope thinks as she plays with little Addy.

Penny picks up Mr Valentino the bear and amuses Sandi!

Soon enough, the girls's parents are picking them up and thanking Penny for taking such good care of them.  James arrives home from work, but the festivites are halted because he has to finish writing up some reports.

James finally finishes up, and Penny breaks out the birthday cake.  It's Avery's turn first...

And here's Avery, a beautiful little 5 year old.  She won't let Penelope cut her hair.

And now, it's Piper's turn to age up!

And here's little Piper, clinging to mom! She seems to resemble her father more...

Now Mom and Dad have a surprise birthday present for Avery- her very own big girl room, all decorated and ready just for her!

The next day is Avery's first day of school, but she insists she's not nervous.  Despite her claims, she takes a big hug from Penelope quite willingly.

Penny's day of daycare is in full swing as she cares for the kiddos, and she finds that she's missing Avery terribly.  Although she's glad that now Piper is old enough to play with the other kids.

Penny answers a phone call from old friend Adele with relief- when you're constantly around toddlers all day, some adult conversation is especially appreciated.

Avery is home from her first day in kindergarten, seems entirely unphased and takes to chowing down on some leftover birthday cake.

James rushes home to tell Penny about his promotion at work! He's really excelling at his job lately, all those extra hours are paying off! He is now an official Crime Scene Tech, and the position comes with better hours and a nice raise.

Avery, playing in the treehouse her father built for her in the back yard decides to play a little prank on her dad. Good thing he's got a sense of humor.

Later on, Avery and Penny eat dinner together and Penny asks her about her first day.  She says she didn't like the bus. Her teacher is super nice.  Some boy named Xander cut her in line for lunch, and she met some really nice older girl named Ava McCallister, who played with her at recess.

Avery's SUCH a Daddy's girl. She begs him to read her her favorite story.  James can recite this book almost from memory, and "The Case of the Red Bicycle" puts Avery quietly to sleep...

No alarm clocks today! James takes this Thursday off to celebrate his promotion and spend some time with his family.

You'd swear these 2 little girls were bottomless pits with how much they eat!

James takes Piper for the day, to give Penny one less little one to worry about! Piper babbles all the way to the park.

Later on, James takes Piper to Shady Glenn for dinner.

Thursday night is moms night out!  Penelope hits the night club The Edge with fellow young moms Sydney Jacobs, Adele McCallister, and Ella Macintyre.

There are few indulgences better than onion rings....Mmmmm mmmm...

"It's so nice to be able to just let loose for awhile!" Adele remarks.  "And have husbands that can be bribed into watching the kids," Ella winks.  They all share a laugh, and dance the night away, kid-and-worry-free. Even moms need a break!
