As you may have already guessed, that day several months back, Rishelle Glenister did NOT take her birth control, and then forgot that she forgot. Her first three pregnancies were met with nothing but joy and excitement. When her and Jamie found out that they had another baby on the way, they were hesitant to rejoice. Another baby? Her friends already thought she was crazy for having 3 at her age and so close together; she suddenly felt anxiety and a little bit of fear. Their little starter house was feeling smaller and smaller everyday, but her and Jamie put on their brave faces. How can you not be excited for a baby?
Jamie has also got the new baby on the brain, and is more anxious than he cares to share with his wife. They tried to get pregnant with all three of their other kids, and now, looking back, Jamie sometimes questions if that was the smartest decision- not that he would trade his kids for anything, though. He wonders where they will put another baby...
This house is only two bedrooms, and the nursery is sqished as it is, with 3 cribs and all the kids toys.
Jamie puts his daughters to bed that night and tries to put aside his worries.
Before hitting the sack, Rishelle comes to him for a little encouragement. "It's going to be just fine honey," Jamie tells her. "Isn't this what we always wanted? A big family? I know it's more stressful than we realized, but we'll get through this together. Thousands of couples would kill to have the problem of too MANY babies." Rishelle smiles. "That's true. I just hope him or her feels wanted, I feel like I'm jinxing things with all this worry in my head. It's silly really. We both have great jobs- you're the Fire Captain and now I'm a Department Head on the school board- it's just, so overwhelming and confusing, ya know? The other day I almost asked my co-worker to go stand in the corner and take a time out." Jamie laughs. "I'd like to have seen that...haha. Seriously babe, you and I, we CAN have it all. I'm going to take care of you. If you need to quit your job, then quit. We'll manage. We'll handle this like we've handled everything else. It will all work out." Rishelle suddenly reaches to her stomach. "Well, apparently this kid agrees, he's punching me like mad." Jamie reaches out to feel her belly.
That night, Jamie gets an idea.
He decides its finally time for this family to move. They need a bigger house with more space. Jamie knows it will break Rishelle's heart to leave the house they moved into right after they were married, the house where they brought home Logan, Bristol, and Willow, but its become necessary.
As he brushes his teeth the next morning, he wonders how he should pitch his idea to his wife.
He comes downstairs to his already weary wife trying to eat her cereal while his son Logan is throwing a tantrum.
She goes upstairs to lie down for a spell and Jamie comforts a sniffling Logan and gives Willow a bottle.
Once the kids settle down a bit, Jamie heads to the computer to start looking up local real estate. He figures the more informed his is when he talks to Rishelle the better.
It's only the third house that Jamie clicks on, and he knows he's found the one. Right in their price range, only a few streets over, and the description reads "Perfect for the busy growing family." Yep. This was the one!
After lying down for an hour or two, Rishelle gets up and decides to start teaching baby Willow how to walk. She knows she won't get as much one on one time with her once the new baby comes.
Jamie approachs her and tells her they need to talk. "Before you say anything babe, just hear me out. I know we're both worried about space when the baby comes, and I think I've found the perfect house for us. You know that house over on Sunset Ave.? Apparently it's up for sale and at a great price. I really think we should jump on it before someone else does." To Jamie's delight, Rishelle is more receptive to the idea then he thought she would be. That glow in her eyes that she always gets when she becomes excited that he hasn't seen in months comes back. "Yes! Honey, I think that's a great idea! A fresh start! More room! Let's call a realtor right now!"
And so they do just that. After a few weeks of packing and waiting, the sale goes through!
And they say goodbye to their cute little starter house on Ginger Lane.
And the Glenisters arrive at their new house!!
After all their new furniture is delivered, they get to work decorating and setting up the kids rooms.
Here's the master bedroom on the third floor:
The second floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom will be Bristol and Willow's room:
And the nursery for the new baby right next to it. They decided not to find out the baby's sex, so everything is green and yellow!
Here's the foyer/kitchen/dining room:
The living room:
And Logan's toddler room on the first floor:
And finally, the awesome kid-friendly backyard!
Willow likes to play outside with her favorite doll, Wiggles.
And get tickled by Daddy!
Jamie calls his best friend outside of the Department Aaron Mitchell to tell him about the new house as the girls play at his feet. He asks Aaron how his wedding plans are coming...
Rishelle busies herself making the family's first meal in their new house.
All this room is fabulous. The high chairs aren't crowding the kitchen anymore!
Cheesesteak for dinner, Jamie's favorite!
It's been a very long day for the Glenisters, and Jamie and Rishelle tuck their tired babies into their new beds.
Rishelle isn't in bed 10 minutes when she suddenly feels her water break. This eventful day is about to become even more eventful! Funny how Jamie can handle raging fires but always getting panicky when Rishelle goes into labor...
Also funny how they're going to the hospital to have their 4th child, and Jamie has food on the brain. Typical male...
A few hours later, a few pushes from Rishelle, and the Glenisters have a new member! It's another girl! Baby Harper Marie joins the family! Poor Logan is now swimming in a sea of sisters...
Despite all their panic, it quickly becomes clear than once you have more than one, its really all the same. Jamie and Rishelle are thrilled with their latest bundle of joy, and now couldn't imagine life without her.
