The Robinsons

Meet the Robinsons.  Paulette and Teddy grew up together and got married after they both finished college. Teddy has always been ambitious with big corporate dreams, and is currently a Division Manager over at Smithfield Corporate Towers.  He's most happy swimming in memos, meetings, quarterly figures, and water coolers. He's always had a little bit of a cuthroat edge to him, and that's always helped him succeed in business. Paulette, his soulmate and polar opposite, has always loved the arts, loves crafting, and has recently started her own sculpting business, which has generated some interest.  The pair have 4 girls together, Charlotte, 18, Amelia, 17, Emma, 14, and the baby Sophia, 10.

Her latest thing is scuplting with ice, even though Teddy doesn't like her so close to the house with a chainsaw...

An excited Charlotte comes home that day to a patio all decorated for her combined graduation/birthday party tonight, thanks to her mom who has slaved away all day on it!  She's so excited she changes into her party dress that her and her mom picked out last weekend and goes outside again to study the scene.

Charlotte is really starting to look like a young woman here, as she admires her mother's work. Won't be too long now until the guests start to arrive!

Her guests start to arrive! Here's Gerard Wright arriving at the party, him and his wife Lorraine have been like grandparents to Charlotte ever since Lorraine taught a cooking class at Charlotte's high school.

Here's some classmates of Charlotte- Lisa Bunch and Malcolm Landgraab.

Charlotte dances with her longtime high school sweetheart, Brennan Washington.  He keeps whispering in her hear about how beautiful she looks tonight...

An aerial view of the party in full swing...

Emma spots a cutie from her English Lit class- Davy Linnell is at her sister's party!  He's a grade older than her, and seizes the perfect opportunity to chat him up...

Ironically and adorable, Charlotte's younger sister Amelia has been dating Brennan's younger brother Payton.  It sure works out nice for double dating!  Amelia greats Payton with a savy, "You clean up well...", and a little smirk.

Charles Washington and Teddy Robinson, two distinguished businessmen with large families have a chat. These two need to be friends. Looks like they may end up sharing grandchildren as well...

Here comes Olive Washington, Brennan and Payton's younger sister, better late than never.  Charlotte gives her a hug and thanks her for coming to her party.

Paulette brings out the cake, and Charlotte is on cloud nine. She's the center of attention, feels beautiful, and is having the time of her life.  This is her moment.

Another shot of all the well-wishers!

And just like that, Charlotte is a woman.  And a beautiful woman, at that.  A quick wardrobe change and she's back outside to dance with her guests.

Charlotte and her dad share a tender moment, as he gets a little teary when he realizes his first born daughter is all grown up.  Although he would tell you there was dust in his eye, or something.  He hugs her tight.

Charlotte tells him that she has decided to enter into the Journalism career, and he remarks that she always used to point at the news and say she would be delivering it someday.  She'll even be working in the same building as him.  He beams with pride, and then surprises her with a little gift. Charlotte opens it and finds the keys to a brand new car! What a present!

Now it's mom's turn. With tears glistening on her cheeks, she pulls out another little wrapped present and gives it to Char. Her gift is less practical, and more sentimental.  She gives Charlotte her ballerina music box from when she was a baby, and tells her that she hopes one day she can play it for her own little girl.

Hugs from little sisters might just be the best kind of hugs...

"So, you're an old woman now!" Emma giggles, and Charlotte punches her playfully. Some things never change.

Charlotte goes to sleep floating on air. This was the night of her life, and she can't help feeling that her future looks bright, indeed.

The morning after Char's party and the day of her graduation, Emma wakes up in a miserable mood, full of teenage moodiness and angst.  She tends to have a hard time when the attention is not on her, and yesterday she felt invsible.  It's hard having so many sisters, ya know?

This morning, all the Robinsons have the day off due to Charlotte's graduation.

Later on in the day, the crew packs up and head to the town hall for Charlotte's ceremony.

The ceremony is full of tearful goodbyes and yearbook signings, and Charlotte has graduated with honors! Her classmates have voted her Most Likely To Never Leave the House, a title that her family gets a laugh at.

After the ceremony, the family heads to Shady Glen to celebrate Charlotte's new chapter of life.

Later on, Charlotte takes the leap and gets herself a job as a Paper Girl at Channel 3 News, SNN (Sims News Now) located inside Smithfield Corporate Towers dowtown, where her Dad works!  You have to start somewhere...

After lunch, Emma gets a call from Davy, asking to meet her at the park, and the two walk around and talk for awhile.

Meanwhile, back at home, Amelia makes a tough phone call that she's been putting off for weeks.  As her and Payton have gotten more and more serious, she wants to come clean to another guy in her life that she met at camp last year named Ron- they were never a couple, but they have flirted ever since and they still text and email, and Amelia hasn't told him about Payton to spare his feelings. He goes to school in a different town, but he texted her to tell her that he's around for the weekend. Shes knows now, that she can't indulge him anymore and wants to make a clean break so she can not feel as though she's hiding anything form Payton. At her request, he drives to her house.

Let's just say, he didn't take it well. He accused her of leading him on, and says that he knows that she saw a potential future with him too.  Amelia is quiet, but after his rantings go on and on, Paulette asks him to leave.  Amelia is sad that they may never be friends again, but she knows what she wants, and that's Payton.

Feeling down and guilty, Amelia calls Payton and asks him to meet her down at Sunnyside Strand, the private beach down behind the nightclub The Edge.  He agrees and the couple meets under the stars.  Everything comes spilling out as Amelia looks into his eyes, and she tells him all about Ron and apologizes for not telling him sooner.  She should have just been honest. She hopes he's not upset with her.

But she is with Payton for a reason. He's understanding and reasonable, and takes her in his arms and tells her that none of that matters now, and that he's so glad she told him. She doesn't need to hide anything from him.  She looks into his eyes, and feels her stomach do flips as she realizes that she has fallen completley in love.

Nest thing she knew,  Payton asks her to be his date to the prom! She is so excited and of course says yes!  They spend the next hour staring up at the night sky watching the stars, neither of their families even realizing that they were gone.
