The Glenisters

Ah, the Glenisters. Heartbeat of America, and all that good stuff. Jamie and Rishelle rule this roost- friends since childhood, their friendship blossomed into love as they grew up.  Jamie, ambitious and hard-working, has shot threw the ranks at the Fire Department, and is now the Fire Captain, calling the shots. Balancing that responsiblity with an expanding household is his everyday challenge. They have son Logan, 3, and daughter Bristol, 1, with one on the way.  Rishelle teaches high school at Rosedale Academy, but is currently on maternity leave as their new addition is due any day.

The next morning, after Jamie heads off to the Department, Rishelle gets the kids dressed and fed.  She takes a few minutes to phone fellow young mom Scarlett Bell to swap some diaper stories. (Home with toddlers all day, you need some adult conversation to keep your sanity.) There's Logan, chowing down in the background.

Over at the Firehouse, they need to do something to entertain themselves between calls- why not have a video-game tournament?  All the firefighters are in one this one-(from left) there's Colleen Newman, Christopher Steel, Ryan Jacobs, Buster Clavell, Dominic Reynolds, and Jamie, and the loser washes the truck for a month!

 

Back at home, Rishelle plays with Logan...

....and teaches Bristol some new words.

 

A frantic call comes into the Department! A fire has broke out in the Martinez's home, and is spreading quickly!  Jamie grabs a team and gets to the home as fast as possible.  It takes a special kind of person to keep their cool in this kind of situation....

A few hours later, everyone is safe and the fire is out with minimal damage.  Don't leave candles burning people!  It's just another day Fire Captain Jamie!

Back home, Rishelle decided to try out a new Italian recipe that her friend Sydney Jacobs gave her on their last outing together: Ratatouille!

The dish is at hit when Jamie arrives home in a few hours, and fills her in on his eventful day.  Rishelle can never quite get used to what Jamie does for a living, so Jamie never shares all the gritty details or the close calls.  He never wants to scare her. After dinner, Rishelle has a few minimal contractions, but convinces Jamie that they must just be Braxton Hicks- her other two pregnancies, the contractions were unbearable and came on suddenly.

While Rishelle lies down, the mini-Glenisters play nicely upstairs in the nursery- if you overlook the occasional bite or hair tug...

Rishelle's pain doubles and her water breaks, and she's forced to realize that this is full-fledged labor. Jamie already has a babysitter and Rishelle's doctor called before she's even in the car- this guy can handle intense situations like the best of them! 

Two hours later at Rosedale Memorial, and Rishelle gives birth to a healthy baby girl- Willow Grace!  Rishelle remarks that this is her easiest pregnancy and birth so far, and she is definitely up for that again, as she winks at Jamie....
